Lunch Debt Solutions

Each year, Edwardsville Community School District 7 assumes about $20,000 worth of unpaid lunch bills.   Our district policy is to feed every child who takes food and to avoid shaming any student whose family has not paid. Our school district works diligently to connect eligible families with the free/reduced lunch program and to collect payment from those who can pay, but the school does not recover the cost of unpaid bills.   Our project is to create fun, family-centered events that not only raise funds to ease school lunch debt but also to help educate our community about it.
